Fashion Friday: Some Fall 2015 Ready-to-Wear Picks

0
It's that season of the year again when if only I could skip my day job just to marvel on the outputs of this world's fashion designers -- you know just open gazillion tabs on my browser and go through each and every piece and absorb them. It's the NYFW and LFW season! Below are just SOME of my picks on SOME designer's fashion collection. This world is filled with so much talented minds. I dream to attend one of their fashion shows someday. It's like really a long shot, but I still have a whole lifetime to live that dream. For now, I'll be satisfied browsing online sites and downloading the pieces that I dream to have in my closet or I wish I had thought of coming up with. Enjoy!

Carolina Herrera
The 75-year old designer gets out of her conventional zone, don't you think? I have read that nature was her inspiration this season.

Monique Lhuiller
Silk charmeuse and all about figure-hugging pieces for the bridal couture designer this season. I think she did great even though he veered away from her usual designs.

Jenny Packham
The collection is dark and heavily textured. Obviously my picks below are the least of the mentioned description.

Zimmerman
The past, obviously the 70's, was a major inspiration.

Fashion Friday: The LAST Oscar Dela Renta Spring RTW

0
Funny how I was thinking of posting my favorites of his latest runway show and then I read the sad news. I like Oscar Dela Renta for his dainty and feminine, polished and youthful designs. It is just saddening that this world lost another creative soul.

His Spring 2015 RTW collection is to my liking because of the simple silhouettes and yet combined with the right pop of colors and patterns, they were joyous to the eyes. Below are some of the pieces and my favorites.

I'll miss his works definitely. :(

Fashion Friday: Some Picks on Spring 2015 RTW

With the fashion calendar just beginning, and the just ended series of fashion weeks (NY, London, Milan, Paris) it was so hard to catch up on them all. Ya know stuck up in my corporate workstation for eight hours a day Haha! Anyways, here are my top picks on just a few collections. Ah not really top as I always find it hard to trim down my choices to a few. Haha! Starting from the latest fashion shows. Hayyyy I wish I have an extra 24 hours just to catch up, something like October 3.5 but it still has 24 hours in it, an invisible day between Friday and Saturday sort of.

Hermes

Fashion Friday: NYFW2014 BCBG Max Azria

0
Allow me to start raving on this year's New York Fashion Week through the BCBG Max Azria collection. The fact that this was the first collection that I saw while browsing online and instantly got my attention. I noticed that I'm inclined to "flowy", simple and dainty pieces. My favourites are the white pieces.

Fashion Friday: Amsale Spring 2015

0
In light of my December wedding endeavor, I’ve been in constant nourishing of my supposed to be creativeness and ingenuity in designing the perfect wedding dress and entourage dresses for my first ever bridal entourage. I am blessed beyond measure for the trust given to me by the couple. That is why I am trying my best and pouring my heart out on this. During my free time I browse through different creations and of different designers and stores. Below are some of this week’s finds.

This post also features Amsale’s Spring 2015 collection. One of Amsale’s design principles, which I critically consider, is “Make Believe”. I try to place myself in the shoes of my client imagining myself being on the place and the occasion where the dress would be worn – “making believe that I am already there”. In my December bride’s case, I try to fascinate myself as much as I can the details of her wedding, making sure I know where their wedding would take place, the reception, the set-up and even the couple’s love story. I want to understand her style and personality. I don’t want my bride (and my clients) wearing any of my creations not reflecting a good association of my aesthetics and their persona.

Going back, I really like how clean, dainty, flowy and elegant the pieces of this collection are.

Fashion Friday: Giambattista Valli Fall 2014 Couture

0
It's the Paris Couture Week Fall 2014 and my eyes have been obsessing on so many pieces from different collections. But as I browse through my handy apps on my iPad, it was Giambattista Valli's collection who first caught my attention. It was pure inspiration to me. I like its silhouettes and the cuts. The pieces, as to my judgment, are not so fancy and maintain their own definition of elegance. It indeed gave justice to "from the bed to the blooming gardens" peg. Below are my top 23. I really like this collection it was so hard to reduce it to a top 10 or below.

Fashion Friday: Mango's Spring Selection for Special Occasions

0

Showcasing one of my favorite brands here in my blog which happens to be a favorite fruit as well haha, Mango!! This is a tad late because this stylebook was released last May. I like these dresses hence posting it here for future reference. There would really be events when one would need to “dress up” and this collection isn’t anything similar to cocktail. It’s all about maxi and pleats and prints. Like like it!!

Fashion Friday: Summer Style #TheDumondWay

0

I don't really have any distinct and consistent summer style, but for this summer season my eyes and my mood are feasting on floral, neutrals, blush and white. Floral tops should be a style staple most especially during the summer season. There is always beauty in floral. The floral top as shown above is in a light palette. Because of the almost unbearable heat, it's not really comfortable for me if I put on any heavy and dark block colored pieces. I feel like it would just add up to the rising temperature. I would rather opt for a light-colored blush tone just like the shorts above. Summer is a very good excuse to flaunt your arms, legs as well as your feet hence this sleeveless floral top, blush shorts and this Dumond pair of sandals accessorized with the pretty white bag that chics up the whole outfit. This sandals is perfect for strolling around while cooling off inside malls and hotels or for strolling around parks and beaches. Let my do it the Dumond way.

Dumond is one-of-its-kind brand. I guess Philippines and Brazil are close together in terms of temperature and tropical climate, hence their footwear is something suitable to our land and weather. Dumond brand is done the Brazilian way. We all know how Brazilian brands, as we all are aware with some Brazilian footwear, have captured our hearts because of its durability. Dumond is of premium quality without sacrificing beauty and style.

View Dumond's SS14 collection here. Visit Dumond Philippines in Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for more info.

How about you, what's your summer style?
