Aficionado: CAD Coffee in Singapore

0
Finally, naks a post on my blog's aficionado series featuring a cafe abroad! Hahaha! Throwback to November of last year when I was in SG, I made sure to drop by Haji lane and try CAD Cafe. Sure it is, now I am writing about it! Haha! This cafe won't go unnoticed with its bright blue exterior and graffiti paintings. The place is a tiny one with about two to three tables inside and some stools. But true to the meaning of CAD (Coffee Art and Design), how little the place may be, it showcases local and international artworks. No, my photos won't do justice with what I am saying haha! There were artworks displayed on every wall of CAD cafe.

CAD Cafe is all about Coffee, Art & Design. The founders with backgrounds in art and design have created a space that showcases various works from internationally renowned artists to local upcoming and student works. Also extremely passionate about coffee and food, you can sip on an exceptional cup of coffee and bite into some tasty fare whilst admiring the art work on display. Pop in and say hi at 23 Haji Lane and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere with great coffee, food and craft beers. Not only will you find CAD Café at its home base, keep an eye out for our pop up coffee and juice bars at various events across the island. (cad.sg)
They serve all-breakfast menu and sandwiches. We tried their Grilled Cheese Toasties and it was good! E wala e ma-cheese e so instant like for me! And since it was really hot that day we tried their iced coffee drinks (Ice Latte and Ice Mocha). Their coffee are made of the same coffee beans Toby's Estate use and nothing "CAD-specialty".
For someone from another country like me, I found their menu pricey hahaha! But should I be living in Singapore, this would qualify for a go-to place. =) There's a whole lot of coffee shops in Singapore but CAD Cafe is worth a visit and a try.

Travel Tuesday: Forest House (Baguio Weekend with My Girls Pt IV)

0
The last installment of this Baguio Weekend with My Girls series is dedicated to our weekend home away from home - Forest House! Getting this bed and breakfast for that weekend  was the best decision we made as Orig4 EVER!! Hahaha! Of course it is an overstatement but this BnB is not. As mentioned in a prior Baguio trip post which was last year as well, after our tour around this cozy place, I knew I'd be back to try. So indeed! It felt like home! Nothing really fancy but the place lives up to its name. Sayang lang we did not get to try their fireplace para mas feel ang pagka-forest house vibe but nonetheless, the ambiance and the smell, too, gave that sort of woodlands feeling pero hindi naman eery. We felt like we have a whole house to ourselves since we stayed in the Yuri room, which was located in the basement. This room has access to the garden area so feel talaga namin isang buong bahay inupahan namin. If WIFI is your ultimate non-negotiable for a room, the rooms here have their own routers and internet surfing was super fast. The owner of the house was hands-on in designing the interiors, with a lot of personal touch and it's vividly shown on every corner of the place. Their service did not disappoint. We were well taken care of and well-attended. I know there are a lot of cheap places to stay in Baguio but shelling out some extra cash for this place will be worth it.
It was actually Julie's birthday month so we spontaneously prepared a surprise for her. Effective naman yata kami! Haha! Quarter-life crisis ka na Julie!! To more birthdays that we will celebrate together.
That night we were supposed to go to the night market to try to score some ukay finds. Sadly, the rain heavily poured and as advised by the receptionist, due to the heavy downpour that there was no night market. So we just took this photo below when we were hoping that the rain would stop but did not, went back to our room, called for McDo delivery and pushed through watching MMK "Amalayer". Hahah! I can still remember!
It's a bed and BREAKFAST so sa malamang may.... BREAKFAST which we greatly enjoyed! Having waken up to a wonderful view just outside our room, okay na okay ang mood topped with sumptuous brekky.
And then our photo op!!

Thank you Baguio!!!! WE HAD A LOT OF FUN!!!

Travel Tuesday: More Food! (Baguio Weekend with My Girls Pt III)

0
What to do in Baguio? EAT!!! Below's a photo diary. The bad thing about blogging on an almost 10-month overdue story is missing on the details hahaha! Usually, when I view the photos after an event or trip, I already formulate in mind what and how to document. But that was usually and this is not part of it hahaha! I am such a bad bad documenter. The photos were taken from:

50's Diner
- overrated, huge servings, not-so-yummy, lives up to the 50's ambiance, refreshing milkshakes!
Wright Park
- for the first-timer Kaye hahaha
Camp John Hay
- must-visit when in Baguio apart from it already houses a LOT of food establishments, it's like a huge park with things to do and has outlet stores, too
Everything Nice
- (in Camp John Hay) we did not enjoy the food end of story haha harsh ko!
