Thankful Thursday: October Edition

01 Was not able to take photos today. But as I began October, I feel thankful that I feel motivated to face this last quarter. The photo above is something I noted to myself a week ago.

02 The joy of window shopping for furnitures , gathering some pegs and imagining my future office..

03 My kind of me-time this Friday night. I have always been thankful for alone times.

04 Being surrounded by fabrics make me feel like I’m in the happiest place on earth. Haha! Thankful that I managed to source all the fabrics I need for the wedding.

05 Super thankful for this day of quality time with my boss amo.

06 And it officially began. A month delay and thought of even pushing it back but the Lord is good! This space would soon be a place of my childhood dreams coming alive. Big dreams, tiny space, tiny steps, big God.

08 Approved designs. Changed shift today hence made room for more time to sideline haha!

09 Finally tried Yushoken ramen house!! Thankful for tonight’s catch up with an officemate. I missed coffee and dinner dates, spontaneous ones.

10 Overtime but was able to make time for some arrangements.

11 Blessed to have attended the annual Saved Festival. Pure joy to praise and worship that Man up there. Suppppeeerrrr blessed!

12 Another catch up night with two of my favorite people.

13 A long Monday but fulfilling one. Today I realized that I may not be very blessed with material wealth but with people.

14 I feel thankful and blessed with the lives of the five people working on this place. I’m sincerely praying for them and I would like to extend any help that I can.

15 Clients.

16 It will take quite some time but I feel excited.

17 I didn’t like how this turned out to be. But I am glad and thankful that finally it’s done!

18 I always feel happy for learning opportunities

19 Been looking for a copy since its release. And thankful for Sketchbook I got one! I just need a creative companion in this form.

20 What reminded me as I started my Monday. Thankful that even in random online arts I am reminded of things that I should do and accomplish.

21 This brand of coffee with the “packaging” and a “sweet” note is something that made my Tuesday. Oh thoughtfulness reaches deep.

22 Pan de sal mornings and bonding. Thankful that gradually or momentarily, it feels good to be at work with mornings shared like this.

23 Dinner with teammate and someone to vent out to.

24 Returning clients and my much needed me-time.

25 Aahh reunited with my high school barkada. So blessed with my set of friends! What a night of fun and laughter!

26 Talks over coffee on books, travel and life and of fulfilled dreams. Was able to watch a movie with the book club too. I love our book club!!

27 Feel-good for today, seeing these CBTL planners!

28 The collection’s coming to life, slowly.

29 Pamper day! Gel-ed fingernails and pedicured too!! Weee! Getting ready for my birth-month!

30 Thankful for budgeted expenses slowly being paid.

31 This photo is captured by a new phone! Yay!! …After more than two years and after seeing my old phone dying on me and timely enough something to use for our trip.

Thankful Thursday: September Edition

01 Thank you, Lord, for allowing this day to happen. A lot of lack on my part and still you gave me a chance. Thank You for allowing me to have no regrets at the very least. Thank You for paving way to meet new people who I know would be justifications of Your sovereignty.

02 A surprise visit from an architect and friend. What a night of catching up. So blessed with this young lady who never forgets.

03 My kit has arrived. Almost a month of design and layout approval and delays it’s nice to see how good it turned out to be. Thankful for patient contacts and generous feedback. Praying for these that it would lead back more clients.

04 As a Filipino, I feel thankful for this milestone of a win. The Philippines is blessed with talented and skilled people who pour their hearts out on whatever craft they have. Just like Gilas Pilipinas, a very good representation of our nation. Blessed that the whole world recognizes such talents.

05 The time of the month I am reminded of being blessed by a man like my boyfriend. I love him more every month. Days have been busy for the both of us and I feel thankful for his usual understanding.

06 What a Saturday. Thankful for today’s overall productivity - meeting my dressmakers, breakfast with my family, teambuilding and dinner, and a date with my boss amo, chilling catching up at my favorite coffee shop, played in Game Zoo and sang our hearts out. Saturdays like this may be tiring but worth it.

07 Sunday was comprised of another set of random events. Blessed to have spent more time with boss amo, see good family relationships, squeezed in a collab meeting, and this book haul. It’s my guilty pleasure to shop and spend for books and I like it even more when it’s on a cover not published here locally.

08 Monday’s productivity. The day started to be unkind at work, but thank God for I know He made me feel better. Prayers are really helpful.

09 Stayed until midnight at work. Crazy working on 2015-2017 budget. Crazy system shutting down during the time it was most needed. Thankful for this Hansel Premium which seriously helped me survive having no lunch and dinner full meals. Crazy day.

10 To again surprise a colleague on his special day, one of the things I feel really happy and grateful doing.

11 Putok-batok birthday treat! I enjoyed eating liempo!!!

12 Orders.

13 Finally my hair’s much needed treatment and trim and recolor. Salon bonding with my Mom, too!

14 Cheap staycation and another opportunity that lead to this.

15 Today, I wanna thank the Lord for guiding me past the exam and job interview and acing them, amidst my really under the weather feeling. Whatever the result of the upcoming interview will be I would not regret anything. Also, I thank whoever is behind this Amber’s pichi-pichi recipe. It’s been my favorite ever since and today’s comfort food for the sick lady.

16 Felt a little bit better. Also blessed for some “investment talk” with my uncle, dinner and coffee night with the family, despite feeling sick, was able to go by today.

17 It’s that time of the year!!! Book haul during day one of Manila International Book Fair 2014!! More books the merrier haha!

18 Three-month lag recognition! Haha! Funny how I wasn’t expecting anything at all.

19 Mini gathering with my aunts and uncles. Thankful for moments like this. My relatives are my treasures too! Thankful for my uncle who finally will give the support I need!! Thankful for my aunts who also provided support in another way!! So blessed, thank You Lord!!

20 Saturday spent well and productively: bonding with relatives before they fly home. Bonding with my parents. Fabric sourcing. Client meeting. And book fair again! Catch-up date with fellow book club members. Quality time with boss amo. Fun long day!

21 Things that God definitely purposed to light up people’s moods. Just noticed these daisies in bloom as I enter our little garden. Simple joys.

22 Monday and I read a book at work. My report won’t allow me to multitask on the background. It’s a blessing in disguise!

23 Grateful for my father and an additional knot to his rope.

24 Seeing just this katya make my heart skip with joy! I can’t explain the feeling. Praying for the final outcome!

25 Two days ago I started reading this book and now finished it. I feel blessed with the lives and testimonies of the people mentioned in and with the fullness of this book. I learned a lot and I feel more motivated now.

26 Date on a Friday night with my parents. Took them to Yabu, a not so familiar restaurant to them and glad that they liked it. Oh the simple joys of unli-cabbage and fruits made our night haha! I love it that I was able to spend time with them!

27 I feel so glad and excited seeing my first ever bride fit the wedding gown in katya form. I still pray for the success of the final outcome of the whole wedding entourage dresses.

28 Glad that I was able to attend church service today, meeting for the collab and spend time with my boss amo over Racks dinner and Coldstone!!

29 House tripping with my boss amo today and lots of quality time with him! Praying and excited but of course let His will be done.

30 What a way to endmy September - date night with my lovelies. How I missed them. Glad and blessed to know that I have them always.

Thanful Thursday: 040314-042414

A lot of things to be thankful for!!!

I thank the Lord for every bit of experience I've had for the past weeks. I know God is continuously molding me into the person He wants me to be. There are hard and questionable situations but it's easier when You know He is a sovereign God. Everything will work out fine at the end of an hour, of today or at the end of a time we are not certain yet. But everything will work out fine.

1. I've had an incident with a bank deposit machine and it's one of the things I'm thankful about. I thought I almost lost my money, actually partly earned from the first ever bazaar I participated in. I kept on praying even though I almost lost hope. But the money's back!!! Super thankful!!!
2. With the new post I currently have, I've experienced four different shifts already in less than a month, including night shift. First I'm thankful that my body was able to cope! Second, it was all a rather good experience. Lastly, I'm finally into a normal shift again!
3. I also am thankful for clients of my fashion design endeavor coming in, from all ages! I pray that the Lord will continue to guide me in and through this and bless me through this and allow me to be a blessing through this. Lord, I pray that magtuluy-tuloy na 'to!
4. I also feel thankful for my new workmates. They make my new hire days bearable and fun!
5. I'm thankful for my Mom celebrating another year with us :)
6. I'm thankful for reunions with old family friends! It was such a joy bonding with them!! I missed them!!
7. As early as now, I'm thankful for a business opportunity. I still pray that let the Lord's will be done. 
8. I want to claim that I'm winning that trip contest! 

Lord, just thank You for all the blessings, tiny and big. Thank You for blessing me!!

Zzzzz it's been a week of sleepless nights and sleepy days. Despite these, I am slowly accomplishing the things that should be done. Hopefully, by the end of next week, a lot of weight will be taken off my shoulder. 

The past week brought new opportunities. I am still surprised for these blessings. I pray, though, that I may have the wisdom needed for the crucial coming weeks. May the Spirit guide me in every decision I will make. And as I approach a venture I have decided on, may God touch the hearts of everyone involved and that we may all accomplish our tasks. I pray and claim for success!

This past week I want to believe I have accomplished more than I usually do. I am positive and hopeful for the coming days but I still place them all in the hands of the Author of my life. I have crossed out all of the important To-do in my checklist and for that I am thankful. In my life where my needs are somehow impediments to my wants, it can really be exhausting trying to juggle them altogether. There are still times when I let out a sigh and blurt “Hayyy buhay nga naman...” But still LIFE GOES ON. And I can’t just be pegged to where I am currently in. Having all these carried by my brain cells, I feel thankful that I am in capacity to ‘de-stress’ myself and still move on in this crazy thing called life, to talk to people, to eat good food, to explore places, to discover moments, to simply breathe and walk. For all these realizations and seemingly trivial things, I am truly thankful. I have my jiffies of dramas like this but just like sweat that needs to be secreted I am just letting these out.

Thankful Thursday: 012314 - 012914

I’m already feeling like smashing my body on my bed and just sleep the rest of day of. I feel tired at 11:12AM writing this part of the blog post. Thank God it’s already Thursday! I survived hump day!! I was on the verge of calling in sick early this morning but the thought that it’s Friday (and a holiday) tomorrow dragged me out of bed.

• I feel thankful that this week I was able to catch up on my piling to-do lists! It’s just January but there’s already a backlog of things that need to be done.
• I guess my tasks at work have also been interesting and have been challenging me that despite having merely four hours of sleep the past nights, I don’t (or more of “I can’t”) feel sleepy in front of my two monitors. This week, I’ve been enjoying my work.
• I was also enjoying my “me-time’s” the past days inside coffee shops – reading, doodling, surfing my iPad Tinsy etc etc. It’s developing into a habit again.
• This may be trivial but thankful for the cool weather. I easily get cold but I like walking early morning with the cool breeze brushing through my face. And I get to wear warm clothes too!
• The past week made me feel blessed yet again for having true friends! I love my high school barkada! I feel so thankful that in more than a decade we still have kept our friendship bond.

On this Thankful Thursday post, I am introducing my grateful journal for this year. Though I haven’t been consistent enough in here with my weekly thankful post, since 2011 I have consistently kept a handwritten grateful journal. It was therapeutic for me and I actually love doing it. At the end of the day I think through the moments that happened the entire day, and never was a day that I had nothing to be thankful about. Being alive is given, but there are moments we are too occupied with the busyness of this world that we do not cherish – those are the kind of moments we should feel thankful about. This 2014, I am putting up my grateful journal online, and with photos. I hope to maintain this for the rest of the year. Maybe you could set up yours too.

A simple “Thank You, Lord” each time we are awake to our senses every day makes a big difference throughout the day. Appreciate the little things, which may actually be something big for some, like the breakfast that we eat or simply waking up under a roof, inside a room, on a bed, covered by a blanket, surrounded by a pair or three pillows.

1. Sleep is luxury. While I’m already used to sleeping five hours a day, I feel thankful that for the past days, since I was sent to ER two weeks ago, I allowed myself to sleep at least seven hours! And though I used to have the “Sleep is for the weak” mentality, having more hours of sleep makes me feel more recharged and refreshed.

Not the typical thank you Thursday that I write. :) Yup, that's me up there earlier today. That's actually a screencap of what was posted in an app. Ako na nagpaalaga! Haha! But first thankful, that nothing really bad health-wise. That was me sleeping after an IV of pampakalma that was needed to be injected because of the uneasiness and restlessness effect of another drug. Grabe no? Haha! But no, it's not something really bad. That was in ER by the way and I wasn't confined. I got discharged right away too. 

Dear Lord, I know that this is a gentle reminder of taking care of myself, of my body. Thank you for providing me the means to do so.

1. It's been a packed weekend! I was able to bond with my high school friends and thankful that the friendship is still there after all those years! I've even known some of them for two decades now!! Also,  last Sunday was Father's day and we were able to squeeze in a quick but intimate celebration. These days that I and my sister are enslaved by our jobs, dining with the family being complete has become a rare precious moment.
