Christmas 2013 with the Family

0

Merie Christmas, I mean MERRY CHRISTMAS from the Clarete family to yours!

Unlike previous years wherein we get to celebrate this special occasion with relatives, this year we are alone as a family. We don't have the magarbong noche buena. We actually slept early. But the next day, we did the annual Christmas visit to Tagaytay for a bulalo, after attending the Christmas service that is. Hopefully next year we can go back to Bohol or Isabela to celebrate Christmas with the relatives. :) Got nothing much to say but praying that we all know the true meaning of Christmas. Now the photos...

We had the chance to witness Bamboo live very up close at the Lee Jeans' Stay Curious Event at the New Glorietta mall last night. Aaah! Very very beautiful singing voice! Talent! The set-list was also actually really good  I could have recorded it. One lucky night!

225. And so we ended this series this way...

Pagod ako, kumain tayo nang marami…”, he said.
“Nakaka-depress pagkatalo ng Spurs sa Heat, sa HEAT!! Of all teams!”, and so I agreed to quite splurge on food. By splurge, we mean, dining in restaurants apart from fast-food chains – splurge na yun.

219. Papa's Day 2013 feat Turon ala Mode

0

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!!

Happy Father’s Day to my first ever superhero! Walang sinabi si Man of Steel sa Papa ko! Marrying my Mom is one of the bravest things to do – and it’s close to overcoming kryptonite weakness. Hehehe. Samahan pa ng panganay na tulad ko! Hahaha I kid of course. But being a father is not an easy job so props to my Papa!! He has to take care and guard us four! He drives for us and picks us up on those rainy days and even on normal days – literally and figuratively. He even acts as our mother sometimes. He never left us even if he may have reasons to! He’s not a perfect father, but he’s the best! This is more than just a movie line in a superhero installment but I owe you my life Papa. Naks!

217. Beng's Silver Celebration

1

Usually June and July are the months of ‘reunion’ with my high school buddies. We have six celebrants for June and July which is obviously the reason why the bulk of our get-together happens on these months.

Kicking it off with Beng’s birthday celebration…

204. Thankful Thursdays

0
The past week brought me situations that led me to a grateful position. The Lord indeed really has His ways!!

1. Thankful for the strength that God granted me to overcome the surgical extraction. The strength to endure the aftermath and I was really thankful there wasn’t much bleeding after the surgery! Yay!

188. Precious Moments Moment

0

I was always curious whenever I see this spot whenever I pass along Gil Puyat/Buendia Ave. The huge Precious Moments signboard and life-sized statue in front get my attention every time. I was thinking if it was a dessert place, a tea house or simply a showroom of Precious Moments collections. Nevertheless I have wanted to go inside. I got the chance tonight. So everything I thought of what it is true plus it’s also a restaurant and a party place. As you enter the place, two cute life-sized Precious Moments statues welcome you and everything is just so nice and candies to my eyes. It was a cute, cozy, pretty, feel-good place to dine in We asked for the menu and we were actually surprised to see a lot in it. They have everything from appetizers to main dishes (beef, pork, chicken, seafood) to desserts. They also have a wide variety of drinks to choose from. We ordered Patatim just for the both of us but can actually serve as much as five people. I tried their Iced Macademia Choco Coffee drink which tasted really good. We haven’t got the chance to try any dessert as we are sort of chasing time.

And since I do not have photos to justify the imagery I am narrating, I do not want to dwell further just telling you things and living it to your imagination. I can’t wait to be back and try out their desserts and drinks as it seems like they have a whole lot to offer. And maybe take more decent photos of the place.

Say Hi to Luke's finger peeking on the lens. Haha! I can't just walk out of the place and not take any picture with them.

Orders: Patatim and we shared over a tall glass of Iced Macademia Choco Coffee

153. Spontaneity at Carpaccio

2
Last Saturday was a really random night turned awesome. We literally passed by this restaurant and we suddenly thought of giving it a try. It was the best decision we made that night! Albeit our attire that doesn’t really suit the ambiance, we still had that fine classic Italian dining experience. We loved the ambiance, the servers know what they are serving, in fact our beautiful server is knowledgeable of the menu and not just faking it; we loved the food from the bread and spreads appetizer (even the bread is well-baked) to the pizza and pasta combo that we ordered - Pizza Gorgonzola and Alla Vercasacana. But pockets were really not prepared to try their Carpaccio dishes and wines and their desserts. By the way the restaurant's name is Carpaccio Ristorante Italiano, located at Yakal St., San Antonio Village, Makati.

(Again, poor quality photos, it was a random night and camera phone is not that hi-tech.)

138. Backpacking Adventures 2: Malapascua, Cebu

0
We don't have the luxury of time and kaching kaching but we're glad that we were able to squeeze in some vacation this second half of 2012. Thanks to Tiger Airways (Seaair) for the sale airfare we got – just a little less than Php550 roundtrip air fare for two!!! So let me blog about our second backpacking adventure to Malapascua, Cebu.

I’m thinking that this be a quick one as this is loooooong overdue!

One of the things I'm grateful about is that I have relatives scattered around the country and around the world. This includes Cebu so our first day in Cebu was spent in Cebu City where some of my relatives live. :)

127. Good Times with Friends!

0
An anonymous saying goes “Books and friends should be few but good.” I don’t just agree but totally can relate to it – both in books and friends. Let me dwell on ‘friends’. Having few but definitely REAL friends is way better than a lot of on and off shallow friendships. It’s better to have few of whom you can surely turn to on down times than to be passed around to those numerous friends. But I am not against having many friends! If you’ve really got a lot of trustful ones, then you are blessed! Having few friends -- I blame it for my being introvert, my conservative parents, being a home buddy – content with art and reading materials, writing medium some TV shows. I may have a few but I’m more than definite to keep them for the rest of the time I’m breathing air.

125. First Backpacking Adventure: CARAMOAN ISLANDS!

12
LAG POST at its finest.

As mentioned in one of my previous previous post, this was what I got giddy about. And now, time allowed me to update this blog regarding this unforgettable, first time, fun backpacking adventure at CARAMOAN!

Remember, or did I? Anyway, our initial plan way back August/September was supposedly November of last year. But our pockets didn't allow us to. Blessedly, February was good to us, because we were expecting our SL conversion! The budget automatically went to Caramoan trip. :) No regrets, 'cos we deserved this trip.

The curiosity of 'how does it feel like having a long train ride?' led us to try PNR from Divisoria to Naga, Bicol. This is added to the fact that we planned this trip to be tightly-budgeted. It's way cheaper than a plane ride, but also took way longer as well. The islands are not easily accessible. And since we're on a tight budget, we have to do the commuting the 'rough' way. San niyo gusto mag-start ang commuting? Okay, let's take off from Buendia station. No, not MRT, the PNR train. Kwento type. PNR to Divisoria. From Divi to... okay an unnecessary longer than usual stopover at Lucena! Nasira si PNR. We stopped there for an hour. Which made us arrive at Naga Station at around almost 6AM already instead of 4AM. From Naga train station we have to ride a tricycle to the shuttle van station, which lead us to Sabang port. From Sabang port, we had a rough boat ride!! The waves were rough. Someone who has motion sickness would definitely not make it to the islands without vomiting. I don't intend to scare, it's just my way of telling how rough the ride could possibly be. After an hour of the rough boat ride. We finally reached Guijalo port! The ride to Guijalo already teased us with what's awaiting us at the islands.

At the sleepers coach, PNR.

110. Birthmonth Day 12 Of Food and Music

0
It was indeed a weekend of food and music that spells F-U-N. I was with my high school friends and we spent the birthday of Chi and mine as well. We had a really stomach-filling dinner at Yakimix Mall of Asia branch.

Let the photos do the talking.

no. 99 nice!

1
It's, I must say, a nice week -- from tweaking my blog's layie until this point that I'm writing another entry.

First, there was less workload for me as I've completed one task the previous week.

Second, I got my pay and my bonus. I'm supposed to be filthy rich this week until the next pay but thank you tax, you owe me a lot. Because of the bonus, two of my shuttlemates, Remar and Tin, treated us to a sumptuous dine out. :) Life's sweet.

Third, I've managed to write a blog entry after five months! It's just a short one, enough to announce my comeback.
