SAVED Festival 2014

0
October 11, 2014
Smart Araneta Coliseum

My third time to attend Saved Festival and finally with my churchmates!! :)

Booked our tix as early as its first day of release! And not to be dismayed it was an awesome worship night!!! It's the only Christian event I've been to that noone screamed "mooore moooore" towards the end, not because people are bored or bitin but because this event gave us a glimpse of how worshipping in heaven would be like - non-stop!! Victory Worship and Esterlyn bands lead the first part of the worship. A short message was delivered by Francis Chan. Finally, Israel Houghton lead the worship for the rest of the night. Waaahhhh gave me the same feeling of hearing them on my player. Such an anointed band! Blessed to have experienced this night.

With this pretty bunch! Wasn't able to see the rest of my churchmates!

Hillsong United Manila 2014

0
June 13, 2014 -- At the Smart Araneta Coliseum, I witnessed the gifted worshipers of Hillsong United. This is not a first time. Too bad that this Friday I had a jampacked schedule that we arrived late. All of us came from work, together with Jezrah, Grace, Emily (who again flew all the way from Davao) and boss amo. I on the other hand had to squeeze in between a client meeting. As shown in the photos below, we were not able to get a good seat, we were at the bad side of the coliseum. Konti na lang likod na hahaha.
We were not able to fully appreciate the event but we witnessed how the Spirit moved the audience. I saw a lot of jumping, hands raised, voices lifted -- I felt hearts longing for worship. It looked like a typical contemporary concert, only that it is for His glory. I prayed during those hours that let these very people share the goodness and grace of Christ through Hillsong United Manila's music. I prayed that the event is not the end.
I also felt glad that they still sang their earlier worship songs. Yes people, they also had One Way as the encore, the very song we labelled as the youth's "national anthem". I had a nostalgia of remembering my youth days as an active youth ministry member. I uttered a prayer -- a prayer that I've been waiting for an answer since early last year.
They also sang Mighty to Save, one of the songs that always captured my spirit. It was a beautiful scene. When that part "shine Your light and let the whole world see..." was being sung, that photo above happened. The lights were off, and only flashlights or phone lights were waving while a sound of angels were singing the lines.
It was another night dedicated to the Most High with this pretty bunch. Now we are looking forward to Saved Festival 2014.

Passion Manila 2014

0
March 28, 2014 -- For the third time, even though age-wise I already do not belong to the “young people”, I still attended this year’s Passion Manila event. I could still recall the delightful feeling of being in this event way back in 2008, their first time to be here and was held at the former “Ultra”. They moved into a bigger location, The Big Dome, in 2010, and yes I still attended it. This year they still held it at the Big Dome but on two nights. My heart prays that as the “audience” grew bigger so is the ripple effect of letting people most especially more young people know the loving and saving grace of God, of making Him known. Well, the event in itself is FOR HIS RENOWN.
I remember the first time around it was just me and my sister. We regretted the fact that it was only the both of us who were able to experience such life-changing event. For 2010, I made it sure that our church’s young people will be able to attend it. And because they already experienced it back in 2010, they made it sure that they would be present on this year’s event. So here we are together and united for this event.
with my sister and Luke
When you are in the presence of God, everything is just better. It feels so utterly good. During the Passion Manila 2014, the Big Dome was transformed into a big dance floor wherein the people are joyfully singing, swaying and dancing for Him. When you know that you have a “Prodigal Father”, you will rejoice! I especially liked the message that night. I held onto it. God provided us every single thing that we need, and, what maybe beyond our knowledge, so much more. We are His sons and daughters. Sometimes, all we need to do is ask. We have to be aware of our position as God’s children! So powerful!!! Now I am very well aware how extravagant my Father is. I will not limit Him when I pray. Grabe!!

The Passion268 is greatly blessed and anointed as their songs, the sharing of the Word, the visuals and lighting, once again did not fail in stirring our hearts to praise and worship. We were lead into the heart of worship and prayer. We were lead into a powerful night of adoration to the Almighty. Sarap sa feeling!!
Mareng Emily flew all the way from Davao for the second time just to witness this event

It was such a magnificent night. All to Him. All glory to Him.

Oh Hello There Another Year

0

And just like that, it's already 2014! 2013 brought amazing things to me, some are even unexpected ones. It was a trail to my self-acceptance. It was a year with so many things I feel grateful about. It was a year of realizations and solidifying who I really am. And as the first page of another 365-page-book unfolds, I can firmly say I am moving forward. I'm holding on to what God's word is in Philippians 3:13-15 most especially the verse "But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead.." This should be my life mantra as I face this year. Also, most importantly, the verses mention on pressing on towards Christ, who should matter the most. I should trust Him more, know more and deeply about Him, too. Still not forgetting my favorite verses though: Jeremiah 29:11 and Proverbs 3:5.  I am gonna conquer this year 2014 once again, together with God, my family, Luke, my boyfriend, and my friends.

248. Dumb Sheep

0

Ever wondered why we are likened to a sheep in the Bible? If one is to think very negatively, it’s actually “insulting”. But Biblically, it overlaid that fact and signified overflowing compassion and love abundance.

The Parable of the Lost Sheep
15 Now the tax collectors and sinners were all gathering around to hear Jesus. But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law muttered, “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.”

Then Jesus told them this parable: “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’ I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.

239. Persistence in Prayer

0

Sometimes, we are so persistent in “pestering” our parents, boyfriends, siblings, clients, or whoever in getting what we want. Or maybe we, ourselves, are so determined in getting what we want for ourselves i.e. saving too much to the point of starvation just to buy that pair of shoes or that signature bag. For guys, maybe they tend to be “pushy” in courting a girl they really like. How about in prayer? How about in asking God for the things we want, or rather, for the things He wants and long-planned for us? How persistent are we?

211. It's Not Over (When God is In It)!!!

0
This song gives me the desire to share it right away! It hasn't failed to cheer me up and smile on my own and think to myself and say a little prayer and thank God and praise Him on how amazing and wonderful He is conveying His love and message of hope and of faith in Him, His mightiness -- in songs such as this. Maybe we’re in a difficult situation, on the verge of quitting, going through hard times, on a spot when we question everything that’s happening in our lives – God says it’s not over. God is still working on it, we’re all still a work in progress including what situation we may be in right now. It’s not over, we’re closer than where we were before. God is in it and there are limitless possibilities – far beyond we can imagine! The song may not be that modern and as attractive as the contemporary songs but I hope that you’d set aside some of your precious time and listen to this wonderful song, read through the lyrics and believe, not in what you think the events will turn out to be, not in your circumstances, but what He can do, on who God really is. It’s not over. It’s such a a beautiful song! God bless!

205. Finding balance between contenment and ambition

0

I just want to share one aid in my devotion from Joyce Meyer pertaining to dreams and visions. I have read this a year (or two) ago and came across it once again today. I pray that whatever dreams or visions you may have, whether simple, short-term, long-shot, or almost-impossible, and if you’re on the verge of quitting, if that dream is placed by God in your heart, may you not give up on them. It’s one thing that no one can take away from you. It's one thing God would want you to accomplish. I pray that these words through its writer may help you as well. :)

175. Monday Musings: “Just because you don’t understand something now doesn’t mean the explanation doesn’t exist”

0

“Just because you don’t understand something now doesn’t mean the explanation doesn’t exist.”

And here comes another post on the quarter-life-crisis series. Lol. I’m kidding. But maybe it’s half-meant. Haha! When I think about the future, to be honest, it scares me. I have seen a lot of lives in front of me of which some I have even seen unfold. Not all of them are amazing. Some were fabulous. Some are so-so. And some sadly didn't turn out fine. It created fears inside me. At the back of my mind, I told myself, I don’t want to end up like that. Not good. And do you ever have the feeling that you feel like what you’re doing right now that you believe to be rightful at the moment feels like would not help you on your dream future? (Gulo ba basta yun…) Or help create your dreams into reality? And you just can’t get an explanation out of it? Nag-aral naman ako nang mabuti... Nakapagtapos naman ako... I have a diploma...  Bakit si ganyan hindi naman ganito... Siya nga mas tamad pa sa kin blablabla... Aminin, the list of questions doesn’t end there. It feels like it’s happening, it’s just going down the gutter for you-feel-like no apparent reason at all! I’m just human gifted with overflowing sensitivity and emotional factors haha and I feel such sometimes.

93. cos I badly want to start anew but there's really no need to it

3

This feeling of wanting to just erase everything unpleasant and remain those that are luscious to my recalling. But NO.

There have been a lot of mistakes, shortcomings, transgressions and yes, regrets, that I'm afraid of the possible consequences I'm about to face a second from now to a second before I die. I've been so hard-headed, so stubborn, so stupid that these thoughts that keep on rushing in for the past days give me pains and aches to every vein where the blood passes through, not to mention the physical throbbing headache I've been feeling for four days now. A time would really come for these thoughts. I'm still human. I'm just glad I surpassed it without thinking of killing my delicate self.

90. I wanna be in the movie.

3
May I just remind myself that my first official blog entry here is about Passion Manila 2008. And now I'm about to write about Passion Manila again.

Passion World Tour Manila 2010

(cr: 268blog)

To reiterate what Louie Giglio said, WORDS FAIL. I honestly don't know what words to use to write about such an amazing event. SOLD OUT event. My mind is in a rattle (the good kind of rattle) whenever I go back to that wonderful night. I really don't know. I've been having a hangover and is still under the aftermath since 2008 and Passion Manila 2010 hit me again. It was again an amazing May 25, 2010 night at the BIG DOME ARANETA COLISEUM, where 10,000 young people gathered to bring glory to the only One who deserves it. 10,000 young people that shouts HIS FAME. 10,000 young people that lifted up their hands, hearts and souls to the only One who should have them. 10,000 young people including me and the members of YU2G.

Today is Easter Sunday, a day when Easter eggs and bunnies come to play, when kids and young adults alike enjoy egg hunting, but have they thought of today's true essence?
