Happy Four Years Estimates Manila

0
My motto in blogging or documenting anything is "better late than never". You'll probably read it countless of times here just like now! Haha!

I've mentioned in some blog post/s some time ago of how I was part of a pioneer team in Factset Philippines, the company we've all become somehow attached with. Let me do some reminiscing and reunion, of the four years of the relationship we have with each other, with our boss, and with the team we pioneered.
This was us four years ago. It was in March 1, 2010 when we met each other for the first time. And yes up until now, even though we went in our own separate ways, we still try to remain in contact with each other. As you can see, the photos above are proofs of why I was known of my full bangs. I was in a full bangs phase ya know and I kind of miss it. Haha! We were nine who pioneered the Estimates Manila team. And I must say, with a brag, that Z had really came up with the best possible team combo -- that's us nine. Hahaha!
This is what Luke and I call, the McKinely park. A lot of things happened here. March 6 of this year, I tried to gather us nine as Z who flew from Paris was in town. Unsuccessful, but at least we were seven present in our mini reunion. From those who already left the above mentioned company, I was the first to arrived and I headed to this park. I tell you, kulang na lang ng magandang camera and background music, I can already be part of a music video which I imagine being shot in this park. Hahaha! Complete with teary eyes haha. I recalled almost everything!! I remember those days when we buy something from 7-11 and/or Pan de Manila and sit in this very park savoring our break time. This is also a favorite spot for me and Luke to talk about things and I still remember those days that no one still knows that the both of us are already in a relationship. Naging laman kami ng mga haka-haka at tsismis. Artista si Luke e hahaha! And yes this park still holds our secret conversations. Even with the batches after us, I know that they frequent this park to spend their break time, too. Also, when I feel like emo-ish I go to this park alone and just breathe air. I'm not sure how much memories this park holds for each member of the Estimates team, but for mine alone, it already holds a lot.
Our mini celebration is complete with a greeting cake!! It's no longer a surprise to Z but I know he's happy seeing the majority of us! :) The reunion feeling of finally seeing each other! I haven't seen Ping, Jason and Ja for more than a year!! I recall how each one of us is a representative of one personality type in Enneagram -- that's how varied our personalities are and yet we somehow clicked with each other.
After some mini catching up with each other, we decided to have dinner at SF Bistro in Tuscany. The gap between the present and the last time we saw each other was filled with kwentos, pang-aasar, tsismisan and eating in between. So much happened, so many new faces, new batches, new love teams -- dating from the days we began. Estimates have grown to be bigger in terms of headcount but also in terms of memories and bond and relationship. Ang dami nang pangyayari.
We all look happy right??Cheer lives up to her name. Hahaha! Also, very belated happy birthday Dax!!! Haha! Personally, I'm glad to have seen these people again. I'm glad that we've all become better persons by the mere way we cope up and talk about the past. Our paths have crossed at one point, may still be close with each others' at this point, some have trailed farther, but I believe there is still this bond that we share. Kahit walang habas kami kung tumawa at mang-asar lang na magkakasama, alam ko na meron kaming natutunan sa bawat isa. Each one contributed to who we are now. For that each one is special. Maybe that's why we are puzzle pieces perfectly fit for a pioneer team. We are also proud of what the team have become.
Someday, I hope to reunite us nine complete. I hope that when that time comes, we have happier stories to share; that we may be able to inspire each other, to relate to each other; to give pieces of advice to each other; or maybe we'll cross paths on the same company someday. I miss the so-so and relaxed days with them. I miss how childish we can be with each other. I miss how bullying is acceptable among us. Actually, I somehow miss those everyday we were together when we were just starting the team.
We also visited the lobby of the FPI in PCCI Bldg. We also recalled how when we were starting with just one floor, a tiny pantry but now, the company has grown operating in two buildings with a total of five floors and three pantries plus coffee nooks. Hahaha! And the free drinks! Si Kuya Guard o photobomber. Oh that's Cheer and Jason, just one of Cheer's love teams when she was still with Factset hahaha!
And then after their shifts and Z's meetings, together with Mama Mia and the TL's, had a couple of drinks and more catching up. It was rather a short time with them but it was so good to be back and be reunited.  Maybe there should be a GRAND REUNION of all the batches and each one who became Estimates that would be so muuuuch fun!

We all know why I'm thankful of this team, first it paved way for me and Luke :D Then it made me appreciate more the course I graduated in. Through this team I was able to meet people who have become my strong motivators. I have gained a lot of friends, too. We may be resigned from this department, but we will forever be a proud FS Estimates member.

Christmas 2013 with the Family

0

Merie Christmas, I mean MERRY CHRISTMAS from the Clarete family to yours!

Unlike previous years wherein we get to celebrate this special occasion with relatives, this year we are alone as a family. We don't have the magarbong noche buena. We actually slept early. But the next day, we did the annual Christmas visit to Tagaytay for a bulalo, after attending the Christmas service that is. Hopefully next year we can go back to Bohol or Isabela to celebrate Christmas with the relatives. :) Got nothing much to say but praying that we all know the true meaning of Christmas. Now the photos...

RV's 30th

0
This post is dedicated to Renee Victoria Nievera, who just turned 30 years old!!! Weeee!! This lady is so special to my heart. Who would have thought that we will be really close. She turned out to be my confidante, an older sister I never had, and my bulliness-absorber! Hahaha! Though I bully you always, you know the reason why.... It's because I love you! Haha! I pray for more blessings for you and your family and your blossoming love life. Yikeeee! You've been composed and demure in your own ways. Stay nice, bright and positive person that you are. Keep inspiring people. HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! Thank you for the sumptuous SumoSam Legacy Eat-all-you-can! Yayyyy!

Parang ako ang may birthday! Anyway, we have our birthdays close to each other :)

Thankful Thursday: Animo La Salle. Never Shall We Fail

0

Hooray!! Animo La Salle!! Waited for five years, we’re back and we’re no.1!!!

Six years ago I was able to witness La Salle’s win over UE which led to their 2007 championship! A year after, La Salle made it to the finals once again; but was heartbreakingly defeated by its “greatest rival”, Ateneo. I was a student back those years. As I look back from this point, all I can say is, wow it's been a long time…

219. Papa's Day 2013 feat Turon ala Mode

0

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!!

Happy Father’s Day to my first ever superhero! Walang sinabi si Man of Steel sa Papa ko! Marrying my Mom is one of the bravest things to do – and it’s close to overcoming kryptonite weakness. Hehehe. Samahan pa ng panganay na tulad ko! Hahaha I kid of course. But being a father is not an easy job so props to my Papa!! He has to take care and guard us four! He drives for us and picks us up on those rainy days and even on normal days – literally and figuratively. He even acts as our mother sometimes. He never left us even if he may have reasons to! He’s not a perfect father, but he’s the best! This is more than just a movie line in a superhero installment but I owe you my life Papa. Naks!

217. Beng's Silver Celebration

1

Usually June and July are the months of ‘reunion’ with my high school buddies. We have six celebrants for June and July which is obviously the reason why the bulk of our get-together happens on these months.

Kicking it off with Beng’s birthday celebration…

212. Crazy Birthday Girl

0
Last Saturday, Chat treated us to a sumptuous lunch at Watami (Japanese cuisine) at Glorietta 1. We became more full of talks and laughs than what we actually ate. We missed each other that much and I bet Chat missed us THAT MUCH! Hahaha! We also headed to CBTL, still at Glorietta 1, to talk over our ice-blended drinks, Dax's treat hahaha! I love my friends hahaha!

After months of not seeing each other, this is the closest we could get to an “outing”. =D Thank God for Chat’s treat that we were semi-reunited. Right now, I could say that it's the best team I belonged to (or just yet). Our real friendship flourished and extended beyond the ‘team’. And back when we were all still part of the team, we were simply there for each other. How I miss my everyday-ness with them. Out of nothing, we could burst out laughing, bully each other “naturally”, literally act like kids around each other, and still be each other’s confidante and shoulder-to-lean-and-cry-on. Thankfully, it didn’t end inside the previous company’s walls.

174. Happy Birthday Mama!

0

That's my Mama up there with me (with the flower hair band and power bangs), my sister (with the coolest sunshine-y shades everrrr) and my youngest sib/brother (who doesn't look amazed with his cake haha so cuute). That photo was taken 17 years ago. Up to this day my dearest mother is still taking care of us. She provides our basic needs and irreplaceable love, care and seemingly never-ending understanding!! What's fascinating is that it comes with a free sermon everyday!!! Kidding!!

131. Something New With My Lovelies

0
This is a late post. But before I tell the tale of one Saturday night, can you allow me to rant the reason why I can't seem to blog on time? It's because of my crappy internet connection. It gets me annoyed so easily so I am defeated and usually end up not posting and not being able to do cyber stuff. And right now that I am writing I am thinking of switching to a new one. And my laptop isn't helping that much as well. It has a lot of clutter inside as it was never reformatted for almost five years now! Yes, that's how old my laptop is that I'm thinking of buying a new one or an equivalent. End rant. Thank you.

It took us two months to see each other again but the fondness and the bond with each other did not diminish. It was yet another fun but scary-gory night with my lovelies.

126. Father's Day

0
Before anything else I wanna tell you that I'm not a Daddy's girl. No. I'm not sad and I don't remorse over that fact. If you want to know why, I have a very dramatic theory. And  I won't share it. Lol. But I love my Dad just the same.

My Dad, Papa, as I call him, is one of the most brilliant person I know. He is witty. And he is far more patient than my Mom. He could tell on endless jokes and myths, and horror stories to barbero stories -- he'll never run out of stories to relay. Coming from a brilliant trace of the Clarete's from Bohol, he is one smart guy (that makes me a smart gal yeah!). I always hear of his employees and colleagues alike complimenting him how smart he decides, most especially on those days he was on the upper management of the corporate world. I like a lot of things about my Papa -- we can debate and harmoniously talk on any topic; he is more liberated compared to my Mom hence, I always ask for his permission instead of my mudra; and sometimes he gets me more than my Mom does!

And though he is just not the showy-type in terms of affection, just the same I love you, Papa!

123. Mother's Day

2
Both parents are special to us but nothing beats a mother-daughter tandem. And in my case, I admit that I'm a Mama's girl. I've grown to be spoiled to my Mom. And what I am now is greatly influenced by her -- emotionally, physically (I got most of my genes from her except my built which I got from my grandmother Father's side), the 'instincts', her love for dressing up, her being choosy and even how people have their first impression on us as 'matarays'. Yes, I don't know if those are carried by the genes as well but I sure have a lot of obvious resemblance to my Mom.

Cakes, gifts, flowers, long queue everywhere! No it's not Valentine's day, it's Mother's Day! :)

Our family also celebrated it -- despite 'celebrating it' on a queue for one-third of the time. So next time, I'll make it a point to book reservations.

After attending church service which of course the sermon and the ceremonies are all for our mother dears, I gave her the cake I bought from Tous Les Jours.

112. Birthmonth Day 19 Finally Mr. Hari ng Sablay

0
No matter how long it took him, he graduated!

I have this close friend whom I always pick on when it comes to ‘studies’. It’s a friendly teasing and some sort of inside joke. So we celebrated his graduation at his crib. He was the host. Gujab gujab Eo! :) It was also good catching up with my friends though we were also together last week. We ate and ate and ate and talked and spent time on the psychological tests. We went home at around 6 in the morning. I can’t remember when was the last time I stayed late with my HS friends.

So the photos…

not in hiatus just busy

0
It's been 2 weeks, almost 2 weeks since my last update. This Blogspot of mine went down in my priority list. One top-lister is SLEEP and errr Plurk, I need to get a 100 karma asap so that I can leave it alone and not already mind when its karma points are going down. I can't even visit my pet, Furawe in Pet Society, can't even play Mafia and Fashion Wars. Haha! But I check on my Multiply, Twitter and Tumblr. Hahaha!

As rare as I update this blog is as often as I update my written journal. The everyday happenings, events, resents, raves, rants, imaginations, realizations, etc are written there, to the point that I'm bound to replace it soon.

What I've been loooong waiting for

0
Finally... Those things I've been looooonging, i've been long wanting and waiting for were finally granted! These are the good news for the first month of this year!

First off, after a year of 'untouchable hair' (yes, that long) I got my hair cut already! My hair is really 'choosy'. My crowning glory is pretty much sensitive to who touches it so I guess it found a new friend in Coke of Bench Fix salon (do I really have to mention her name and feel like i'm endorsing the salon? hahaha) Yessss I love her already! I only had 2 stylists and those 2 opted to do business abroad. The others who touched my hair after these 2 really made my hair catastrophic -- bad hair days! I'm exaggerating but but but I feel like they're not really taking good care of my hair. Also, I really don't like gays touching my hair.

First Ever Guy Debut I've Been To

0
Yeay to me! I've been out today! Today's the very first time I went out of my house for this year, 2009! Of course I attended Church service! Wow, how I miss the House of the Lord, the house where I praise and worship and listen to the Good News. Technically, it's my first service for this year as well!

I loved today's message as well. THERE IS HOPE FOR THE PHILIPPINES.

if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
-2 Chronicles 7:14
