161. Fashion Friday: Orange Summer!!

0
Summer is still scorchingly up! And maybe one of the best colors to associate it with is the color... ORANGE! Though it's not that really easy to pull this color off, it gives that vibrant, bright, sunny and energetic feeling perfect for the season. And just like any other color and piece of clothing and accessories, it comes in different hues to choose from to suit your mood and well, skin color.

Here are some eye candies in different hues I personally picked.

159. Thoughts and Megashake

0
Lately, I’ve been exuding a really grateful attitude towards my current job. It is just recently that I’ve genuinely thanked the Lord for blessing me with this job. It took me three months!! It’s amazing how God works this way. I was blind-folded with pessimism and resentment that I didn’t see the goodness and the possible-greatness of this change of phase in my life. I even got frustrated that I don’t get to see the silver lining! Just a silver lining! But I was wrong. I don’t need to see the silver lining as I have bright clouds in front of me. I do miss being a trainer and having trainees. It was one of the sweet blessings God entrusted me. With the current corporate role, I’m blessed that despite the reality that I actually lack the relevant experience for this post, I was given this chance. At first I was hesitant to pursue it. I thought of quitting on the first week (given that a few companies still called me up for interviews!). I was so overwhelmed with the new responsibilities and tasks. I was actually commended a bigger responsibility. I felt like singing A Whole New World but with a sense of grief!

Fast forward to today, I feel good about it. It may be far from what I really really want but in the past days, I realized that this experience is what will take me there. Sometimes, in our paths, there needs to be a bridge to go to the next destination instead of swimming through the possibly rough waters. Crossing a bridge might appear easier. I believe that this is its purpose. And I’m claiming it. There were also regrets that I’ve risked the possible jobs for big UK fashion brands, a fashion-related job, I still have it at the back of my mind though, I still wonder what if I attended that final interview and did not uuuh sorta ditch it (teehee my fault >_>). Well, living life always has risks involved. Right now, I just feel glad, blessed and grateful.

157. Monday Musings

0
One of the hardest things to do in life is to love ourselves. It's so easy to see our flaws and failures and these actually readily conceals the greatness and beauty that God has intended for us to be. We are often trapped in this world's superficiality that we fail to realize that we are more than what we do or own -- it's who we are.

155. Fashion Friday: Fascination on Bird Prints

0
While thinking of a theme for a summer collection I'm working with a friend, I suddenly thought of birds. It's just appropriate that bird print is associated with summer trend. I don't think you see that much birds flying other than the sunny/spring season.

I'm pretty sure you've seen not just one person wearing bird print. As for me, I am easily drawn by the print. If only I'm not restraining myself from shopping since last year, I could have spent quite a lot for anything bird-print related. I wouldn't mind having a closet filled with it!

So in replacement with the real-pocket-hurting shopping, I resorted to my ever reliable hobby of window shopping online. And below are some of my picks. Aaah! I would love to wear them!

154. Monday Musings: Reached What?

0

Source: http://www.explodingdog.com/dumbpict51/reachforthesky.gif

You guys, there are days that I’m really convinced that im having a quarter life crisis. Growing up. Getting old. Whatever. But one thing’s for sure, years do pile up so as experience, knowledge, and learning and even material acquisitions. But, Merie, come to think of it, what else? Questions like how far I have gone on the road that I decided to take, well im not even that fully decided, see!! Actually, I have been feeling calm and good about myself lately and I know it’s all because of the joy, peace and strength that come from God. Constant talking to the One who always listens is really really direly helpful! But, of course, when face to face with reality I tend to still wonder and my mind is in wander.

153. Spontaneity at Carpaccio

2
Last Saturday was a really random night turned awesome. We literally passed by this restaurant and we suddenly thought of giving it a try. It was the best decision we made that night! Albeit our attire that doesn’t really suit the ambiance, we still had that fine classic Italian dining experience. We loved the ambiance, the servers know what they are serving, in fact our beautiful server is knowledgeable of the menu and not just faking it; we loved the food from the bread and spreads appetizer (even the bread is well-baked) to the pizza and pasta combo that we ordered - Pizza Gorgonzola and Alla Vercasacana. But pockets were really not prepared to try their Carpaccio dishes and wines and their desserts. By the way the restaurant's name is Carpaccio Ristorante Italiano, located at Yakal St., San Antonio Village, Makati.

(Again, poor quality photos, it was a random night and camera phone is not that hi-tech.)

152. #DunkoftheYear

0
I just need to put it out here. I'm not a really really big fan of basketball and I'm not that technical when it comes to it but I'm easily awed by the art of passing, dribbling, shooting and DUNKING the ball in basketball games! And the latest rave is of Jordan's #dunkoftheyear! DeAndre Jordan of LA Clippers that is (not Michael duh). Wow! I felt like I was watching Space Jam! And at the same time murdering Brandon Knight (you guys I need to Google search just to know that name, not really knowledgeable of player names haha).

Go watch it, slow mo maybe and allow the song "I believe I can fly" play in the background. Wow.

On other note though, how do they do that?

151. Monday Musings: From Now On

0

The truth is, the greater part of your happiness or misery depends solely upon your attitude towards any given moment, regardless of the events contained within. You need much less than you think you need to be happy, and you usually have a lot more than you think you have. There’s always something worth smiling about. It’s just a matter of thinking differently. (Marc and Angel)

It's hard isn't it, being always happy, trying to embrace positivity because we are mere humans and our emotions most of the time are the reasons of our downfall. It may be hard to be thankful having a two-peso donut bought from some lowly bakery when you see someone deliciously munching on a donut from J Co.

150. Bedroom Wall Peg

0
I fell in love with this bedroom wall instantly! Like the blogger, Elsie (and Emma for A Beautiful Mess), I've been looking forward to the finish product! I've seen how this wall developed from scratch to this beauty!! Aaaah! For my future home with the future husband, I would want to do something like this! But maybe we'll both have it personalized like a short note dedicated to each other. Schwee-eet or too cheezee, I don't care, it would be a wall that would constantly remind us the love that we share!!! Awww haha.

Or maybe for my future personal space/office space. I just love it!

149. The 26th and the 792nd

0
I'm just glad that I have someone to share my everyday with and how we still celebrate even in the littlest ways our month anniversary aka monthsary. So that's 792 days together or 26 months. Cheesy noh?

We always try to find a way to celebrate like for today we met I after workshift, and him before workshift, then we had corn kernel, which we missed buying and eating in SM Makati like we used to before we go to work together in the previous job, of course catching up with each other, listening to each other's rants and everyday stories and then we had lechon for dinner!!! :)

The next three months would be another kind of adjustment for both of us. Our shifts are on opposite poles! :( I'm asleep and he's up and grinding, I'm up ang grinding and he's asleep. Bakit ba kasi nauso ang noght shift?? Haha! But we trust that we'll get past this and even stronger.

148. It Didn't End There

0
Each time I eat out with the people I used to see everyday, it gives me that inner happiness. It just lets me know that I’m not forgotten and there’s still that bond that ties us together even though we don’t get to see each other everyday or as often as we used to. The saddest part of leaving the previous job is being somehow “detached” to the people, to my teammates and colleagues. I lasted that long (well it’s already long for me) because of the people! I feel giddy each time I am reunited to anyone of them! And that’s exactly how I felt when I had brunch and dinner (separately) with three ladies close to my heart! (Naksss close to my heart pala kayong tatlo).

I got excited because honestly, with my current job I don’t get to talk a LOT like I used to. Not that I talk a LOT but I used to hold a trainer post haha depensa agad!I’d sing softly to myself, and sometimes those are the only words that come out of my mouth for the entire eight hours at work. I do have officemates but it’s just different being the youngest in the team, you know I don’t have enough guts to bully them older than me. Hahaha. Or maybe I havent gathered enough courage YET. More so, the current role is so unlike the previous one, as a trainer requires a lot of talking. Anyways, eough of the blab but yeah I may already have a panis laway that I'm excited to see these ladies and talk to them! And it doesn’t help knowing that these ladies are not really on the silent-type range of people (they may look like they’re quiet but trust me they’re not haha!).

Wednesday afternoon. Arianne finally “woke up early” that day and as-fast-as-a-bullet decided to contact me and have lunch. I was given a millisecond to accept her offer or decline it. But she’s “the boss” who am I to say no? Duh. But really, it’s been long planned that we have lunch together with Sy supposedly but thank the fairies for waking her up early that day we finally had lunch together. Ok, brunch actually since we had it at Early Bird Breakfast Club. I absolutely missed talking to her!! But... I can't believe I felt all grown-up talking to her! We were talking about our careers! Seryoso tayo that time, Arianne! Haha! We could've just talked about KPop or books but career. The thing is we I still enjoyed talking to her. :) Sad that I only made use of my lunch break so our time together was limited. Arianne (and paging Symond Buso) let's please do it again, okayyyy??
